Teaching Social Skills to Youth

The course connects specific social skills to 43 commonly diagnosed disorders ranging from attention deficit disorder to schizophrenia. Charts highlight each disorder separately and contains a list of social skills that can be targeted in a very simple format.

Objectives:

• Discover mental health assessment and evaluation tools 
• Learn about children's developmental, cultural, behavioral, emotional social, genetic, and biological variables.
• View a series of charts that list the social skills that caregivers and treatment providers might target for each of more than a hundred diagnoses common for children and adolescents.
• See examples of treatment plans that show how social skills can be integrated into plans across different settings and levels of care - home and school, foster care, residential group home, and psychiatric facility.
